On Friday, December 20th, President Trump signed H.R. 1865 into law. This provides a one-year extension for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), including VOW to Hire Heroes tax credits, and retroactive extensions through 2020 for Federal Empowerment Zone and Indian Employment Credit.

Twenty-three years after its inception, WOTC proves once again how valuable of a program it is for employers and employees across the nation. Without it, hundreds of thousands of individuals would continue to struggle, facing barriers to secure employment. We are delighted for this outcome. This important renewal required extensive lobbying and hands-on-deck efforts to make WOTC permanent.
